Cute as the Devil

I wanted to try something I don't normally do - and thus I did a chibi version of my favourite demon prince Saiu, from my Bleach fanfic "Devil's Smile" [link] . I dressed him in a formal(ish), Japanese(ish) style quite different from his attire in the story, and it was a lot of fun to draw and colour.

Since Saiu doesn't really do "cute" (he does regal, cunning, malevolent, and/or sexy much better) I was a little worried about how he would turn out - but I love the result! I think he's absurdly adorable, but still maintains his essence of bad-ass demon prince.

Being unfamiliar with drawing chibi, I took a long look at 's wonderful chibi before starting (and found some clothing inspiration there too). I didn't use any references while drawing though.
